Why do they hate the right?

Planned Parenthood

All the news I watch these days seems to hint at one point: our society is rapidly deteriorating. War updates from Iraq are drowned out by stories of teenagers striking their pregnant girlfriends with bats to cause a miscarriage or throwing "unwanted" babies from second story windows. As I watch, terrified that our great country is headed toward self-destruction, I can't help but wonder if I am alone in thinking that changes need to be made.

I began my research by visiting Planned Parenthood's website. The first thing that struck me as shocking was the fact that their website had more to say about how president Bush is a religious political extremist than they had to say about actual advice for pregnant women. Maybe Planned Parenthood should change their name to "Women against Republicans."

What aggravates me most about Planned Parenthood is their "fight" for "reproductive freedom." I believe women should have the right to reproductive freedom, but this is not what their organization is fighting for. I believe that instead of "reproductive freedom," the term Planned Parenthood is trying to fight for is actually "freedom from consequence." There isn't a politician in this world that says women do not have the right to reproduce, it is a God given right. In fact, im sure everyone at Planned Parenthood also feels that women have the right to reproduce, although they probably wouldn't refer to it as a God given right. The battle is over a woman’s right to have unprotected sex without having to answer to the consequences.

Planned Parenthood claims the best way to prevent unwanted pregnancies is with morning after pills and abortions. But what are we teaching young women if we allow them to take morning after pills or even worse, have abortions? We are teaching them that certain actions for women have consequences that you don't have to answer to if you choose not to. In the case of young teenage girls, such "education" can be extremely damaging. Instead of showing these young women that they can do whatever they want to do and not have to be responsible we need to teach them the true meaning of responsibility. Until we do so, the young adults of this nation will reject responsibility and continue down the path of destruction.

Abortion is murder. It always has been and always will be. Life is the most precious gift of all and it deserves to be protected. And our children need to be taught the meaning of responsibility and how to make good choices. Planned Parenthood is not the only reason our society is headed toward self-destruction. In fact, it is one of many reasons. However, we need to start somewhere.
